【摘要】:Thepurposeofthisguideistoprovideend-productmanufacturersandotheruserswithtechnicalinformationandmethodsrecommendedtowardstheachievementofsuccessfulapplicationofcrimpedwireterminals.Foranygivenuse,thereisgenerallyachoiceofterminaltypesavailable,employingdifferentmechanicaldesign,materials,andinstallationtooling.Althoughterminalsavailabletochoosefrommaybesimilarlyrated,typicallyaccordingtowiresizesandcombinations,theirelectricalcontactperformanceintheendproductmayvarysubstantially.Formanyapplications,theend-productreliabilityandusersafetyissubstantiallyinfluencedbythechoiceofterminalandthequalityofthecompletedtermination.Thisguidancedocumentcontainsspecializedinformationonselection,assembly,andqualitycontrolofcrimpedwireterminals,coveringaspectsconsideredtobenecessarytoachievereliablelong-termoperationintheintendedapplication.Thisinformationisnotgenerallyfoundincommercialliteratureortextbooks.Themethodsdiscussedutilizeconnectionresistanceastheprimarymeasureofterminationquality,andchangeofconnectionresistancewithtimeasthemeasureofterminationdeterioration.Themethodsarebasedonafoundationofmodernelectricalcontacttheoryandpractice.1.1Thisguidecontainspracticesforspecifyingandevaluatingtheelectricalcontactperformanceofcrimped-typeterminationswithsolidorstrandedconductors.1.2Thisguideprovidesinformationrelevanttotheelectricalcontactperformanceofacrimpedwiretermination.Itdoesnotcoverotheraspectsofselectionanduseofcrimpedterminals.1.3Themethodsdiscussedinthisguideapplyonlytothewiretermination,whichistheelectricalcontactinterfacebetweentheconductor(s)andtheterminal.Otheraspectsimportanttoterminalevaluation,suchasthepropertiesandperformanceofelectricalinsulation,theeffectivenessofstrainrelieffeatures,andthequalityofcontactbetweentheterminalandotherelectricalcircuitelements,arenotincluded.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.ItistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtobecomefamiliarwithallhazardsincludingthoseidentifiedintheappropriateMaterialSafetyDataSheet(MSDS)forthisproduct/materialasprovidedbythemanufacturer,toestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpractices,anddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
